Windows Credit

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed into laws the American recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act of 2009, extending t he tax credits for windows that were established in the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

What does this mean for you? Purchase a qualifying window by December 31, 2010, and you will be eligible for a tax credit equal to 30% of the product cost, up to $1,500.00.

Which Windows qualify? Look for Energy Star Windows, which have earned their certification by meeting the strict energy-efficient standards. Most of them qualify, although you should check with chosen windows professional to make sure the windows you are buying qualify for the credit.
